REANNA CRUZ
what’s good ~
I’m Reanna, an L.A.-based music journalist, audio producer, and entertainment critic.
currently: freelancing as the senior producer for Vox Media’s music podcast, Switched on Pop (now on Netflix). I’ve worked there since 2022, hosting and/or producing weekly episodes while also researching, booking, scripting, and editing for the show.
previously: worked at NPR Music, where I ran the socials, wrote up Tiny Desk Concerts, and reviewed dozens of new releases. I also regularly spoke on nationally syndicated NPR shows including Alt.Latino, All Songs Considered, and Weekend Edition.
also: worked as a researcher on Critical Minded’s 2026 report on pop music criticism, Beautiful Struggles: Critics of Color and the Pop Music Landscape. I also co-hosted the second season of the Critical Minded Podcast.
btw: I am a member of GALECA, and have served as an expert panelist on multiple podcast and radio shows, including NPR's Pop Culture Happy Hour, CBC's Commotion, and WNYC's All of It with Alison Stewart. My music writing and reviews can be found on NPR Music, Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, Vulture, Them, The Bitter Southerner, and more.
bonus: I’ve hosted panels at Vulture Festival, the NLGJA National Convention, the ACP Spring National College Media Conference, and Pop Conference.
